Thank a Volunteer Day is fast approaching and will be officially celebrated on 5 December 2008.

This state government initiative encourages the running of community events
that bring together a range of volunteer organisations to recognise the valuable
contribution volunteers make to the community.
This is a great way to recognise the hard work and dedication of our
sport and recreation volunteers.
Volunteers were also eligible to be nominated for a Ministerial
Certificate of Recognition, which will be presented at various state-wide Thank
A Volunteer Day celebrations on 5 December 2008.
Nominations for the Certificate of Recognition closed on Friday 24 October
2008.
