The Smarter than Smoking Country Sport Scholarship program is a joint initiative between the Department of Sport and Recreation (DSR) and Healthway to support talented regional athletes in their pursuit of state and national representation.
The scholarships provide opportunities for regional athletes to access training, competitions, development camps, coaches and facilities to improve their performance and assist them to represent Western Australia and/or Australia.
The program also encourages young athletes to become positive role models among their peers in promoting a healthy, non-smoking lifestyle.
Applications for the 2010/2011 scholarships open on Monday 27 April 2010, and close at 5pm on Friday 4 June 2010.
For more information, please contact your local DSR regional office.
