Members of the 2009 Youth Sport and Recreation Committee (YSRC) for the Great Southern region and Metropolitan Perth have been announced.
08 December 2008
The metropolitan group consists of 24 young people aged
14–17 years, while the Great Southern committee, which will be launched in 2009, has 13 young people from across the region.
Students
on the committees are nominated by their schools for their passion for
sport and recreation, leadership skills and for being positive role
models.
In 2008, Youth Sport and Recreation Committee members had the opportunity to hear from a range of guest speakers inspiring
them to be involved in the sport and recreation industry. They critiqued Department of Sport and Recreation
projects, attended a camp and industry conferences and have been fantastic
volunteers at DSR events.
