During this time, community organisations may still apply for funding using the simple guidelines and application form, however their applications will not be assessed before August.

The Community Participation Funding was launched in April 2009. Since this time, the department has been inundated with hundreds of enquiries from the community, with more being received daily.

Positive feedback has been received from a variety of community groups, complimenting the format and targeted nature of the funding for community-level initiatives.

To date, DSR has funded 31 projects through the scheme, comprised of 12 regional and 19 metropolitan projects, all of which target low participation groups such as Aboriginal and culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) populations.

Successful grants

The Community Participation Funding scheme provides small grants of up to $5000 for projects that target low participation groups, particularly culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) and indigenous populations.
