Let Lions help you

Many Lions Clubs provide services to sporting and recreational events for a fee which is usually less than that charged by commercial operators. These services include catering and the provision of stewards, marshals and car park attendants.

Lions International logoFor example, Lions Clubs provide marshals and man drink stations for the Asthma Foundation Annual Freeway Bike Hike.  One club produces up to 420 cooked breakfasts for competitors in the City to Surf Fun Run.  Others control traffic and arrange parking during Australia Day celebrations.

There are more than 120 Lions Clubs throughout Western Australia.  All raise funds to be distributed internationally, nationally and locally to improve the lives of the aged, infirm, disabled and disadvantaged of the community.

The National Wheelchair Basketball Development League (NWBDL) played its inaugural round last weekend (5–7 March) at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra. The weekend was highlighted by a number of hard-fought games, with no matches having a final margin over 10 points.
