The Sport and Recreation Career Development Program (SRCDP) is underway for for 2010! The program aims to equip students and emerging professionals with the necessary knowledge, skills and industry networks to become leaders in the sport and recreation industry.
Calling all future industry leaders
The Career Development Program has two sub categories:
Student Futures Package
Offered to eight students enrolled in at least a certificate III or first year sport and recreation related course who are performing well in their studies and are interested in gaining employment in the sport and recreation industry.
Participants receive the following package:
- The opportunity to attend workshops, skill development programs and seminars
- Knowledge of career pathways within the sport and recreation industry
- Attendance at the DSR Active conference
- Career consultation and a mentor discussion with a current industry leader
- An opportunity to be involved in a sport and recreation representative body of your choice
- Framed certificate
Emerging Professionals package
Offered to eight employees who have worked in the sport and recreation industry for a maximum of five years, hold a reasonable level of industry knowledge and display the potential to be a future leader.
Recipients receive the following package:
- The opportunity for professional development in a range of forums, conferences, workshops and seminars
- Networking with industry professionals
- Attendance at the DSR Active conference
- An intensive mentor program with a current industry professional
- An opportunity to be involved in a sport and recreation representative body of your choice
- Framed certificate
