Western Australian aquatic centres have been praised by Water Minister Bill Marmion after the industry reduced its water use by almost 10 per cent in the last year, thanks to the support of Leisure Institute of WA Aquatics (LIWA) and the Water Corporation.
The new look Wyndham Memorial Swimming Pool was officially opened on 22 January 2010, with about 60 people attending a ceremony led by Shire of Wyndham/East Kimberley CEO Gary Gaffney and attended by councillors and community workers who have been involved with the project.
Taking out one of the most coveted awards in Western Australian sport and recreation was no stroke of luck for Hillarys local Tony Head, but instead was the result of 20 years of commitment and service to the industry.
The 13th Annual North West Pool Managers Aquatics Seminar is scheduled for Monday 25 May 2009 and will be held at the Broome Aquatic and Recreation Centre.
