Sport and Recreation Career Development Program

The Sport and Recreation Career Development Program (SRCDP) is about to get underway for 2010! The program aims to equip students and emerging professionals with the necessary knowledge, skills and industry networks to become leaders in the sport and recreation industry.

Calling all future industry leaders

The Career Development Program has two sub categories:

Student Futures packageStudent Futures package

Offered to six students enrolled in at least a certificate III or first year sport and recreation related course who are performing well in their studies and are interested in gaining employment in the sport and recreation industry.

Participants receive the following package:

  • Attendance at a specialised industry networking event with representatives from sport and recreation organisations.
  • A professional development workshop.
  • Funding to complete an official sport or recreation accreditation in their area.
  • An official certificate of recognition.

Emerging Professionals package

Emerging Professionals package

Offered to a maximum of 10 employees who have worked in the sport and recreation industry for a maximum of five years, hold a reasonable level of industry knowledge and display the potential to be a future leader.

Recipients receive the following package:

  • Attendance at a specialised industry networking event with representatives from sport and recreation organisations.
  • Professional development workshops on varying topics.
  • Funding to complete official sport or recreation accreditations in their area.
  • Attendance at an industry conference.
  • A mentor for the duration of the program.
  • An official certificate of recognition.
