Geraldton's young sporting talents gather for GAP

Two-time Olympian and WA Institute of Sport (WAIS) rower Amber Bradley was at the Geraldton Camp School on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 May to speak to Mid West athletes participating in the Gifted Athlete Program (GAP).

Mandurah's 2010 Indigenous Grassroots Netball Program is for 8–17 year olds wanting to develop their skills and play netball on a weekly basis. Volunteers interested in developing their coaching or umpiring skills are also invited to participate in this educational program.

In 2009, the Department of Sport and Recreation (DSR) commissioned the preparation of research into recreation and sport participation by young people within the Peel region. The report was completed in April 2010, and results will be made available soon.
Smooth sailing regatta sets a new standard

The Mandurah Offshore Fishing & Sailing Club (MOFSC) hosted the 5th Annual Coaching Regatta over the 2010 Easter weekend, which saw the waters of Comet Bay spotted with an array of colourful yachts. The event was supported by the Department of Sport and Recreation.

April 2010 saw the wind-up of the Seniors Recreation Council of WA Peel Branch's 2009/10 Double Dip Program, which was supported by the Department of Sport and Recreation and was a resounding success.
