The Skywest Airlines Country Sport Development Program helps with the development of sport in country areas.
Please note there will be no available funding for the Skywest Country Sport Development Program for the remainder of the financial year. The next funding round will commence July 2010 subject
to agreement and approval from Skywest.
Purpose
The Skywest Airlines Country Sport Development Program helps with the development of sport in country areas by providing opportunities for:
- Coach, umpire and sports trainer skill development, administrative education and planning assistance; and
- Talent identification and development.
Objectives
The program has two broad objectives:
- Assisting development of sport in country areas served by Skywest Airlines, through providing free travel for presenters and officials to attend development activities and for talented sports people to attend talent identification and development activities.
- Promoting Skywest through a partnership with the sporting community in country areas served by the airline.
Who can apply?
Regional sporting associations in areas serviced by Skywest can apply on behalf of coaches, umpires, referees, trainers, administrators.
How to apply
It is a requirement to liaise with the regional office of the Department of Sport and Recreation prior to submitting your application. This will allow you to discuss your project to determine if it qualifies for other DSR assistance.
Your application must be endorsed and submitted by the relevant State/Regional Sporting Association and submitted to DSR 4 weeks prior to the proposed initiative.
